There are two types of Toyota Quantum minibuses for hire from Temba Car and Vehicle Hire – namely a 14 seater or a 10 seater. The 14 seater is more suited for 12 adults and the 10 seater for 8 people including drivers.
Both these mini busses are diesel powered. This makes Temba Vehicle Hire’s mini busses almost unique. Most mini busses in Southern Africa are petrol vehicles and this means they are very expensive to run. Our 2,5 l diesel vehicles are very economical and environmentally friendly.
The Toyota Quantum 8-seater and 12-seater minibus have been given a fresh new face. All models have a new grille design and these minibus models also feature stylish new seat fabric. The original brake pad material has also been improved.
Both Quantum models now have a revised seat configuration with a separate middle seat and they feature slide and recline adjustment for the left hand side passenger seat.
First released in South Africa in 2005, the Quantum minibus established itself as the market leader in the 8/12 seat minibus market. Functionality, ease of use and value for money provide the formula for success of the Quantum range which is now knocking on the door of 1000 units a month up from the 300 units a month when they were launched just two years ago.
The 2,5 turbo-diesel four cylinder engine with its manual gearbox has an average fuel consumption of 9,5-9,6 liters/100 km in urban conditions, 6,1-6,1 liters/100 km on the open road, and 7,3-7,5 liters/100 km in combined conditions.
Temba Car and Vehicle Hire provide only late model Quantums which are still under factory warranty. Most towns in South Africa do have a Toyota service station. Each of these service stations will be able to assist you if you should experience any trouble. Our Toyota Quantum is also supported by the Toyota Care Roadside Assistance Programme which entitles customers to 24-hour roadside assistance, ensuring ultimate peace-of-mind motoring.
A normal light vehicle driver’s license is adequate to drive the smaller 8/10 seater minibus. However the larger vehicle will require a Public Transport permit.
We have found that the 12/14 seater has limited space for luggage. Therefore Temba Vehicle Hire can provide a light trailer with the bus at an additional R100 per day to solve this problem.
